Obtaining work
A work permit can be issued in Thailand only after a foreigner receives a non-immigrant visa type B (non-B).
The documents for obtaining a work permit are prepared by the employer company and submitted to the Labor Department at the location.
The company must employ 4 Thai employees (in addition to the Thai director) and the authorized capital must be 2 million baht per each foreign employee.
A royal decree in 1979 established a list of 39 types of work that foreigners cannot perform, such as manual labor, agricultural work, construction work, etc.
Any foreigner who intends to work in Thailand for remuneration or without it is required to obtain a work permit before starting to perform their official duties.

Foreigners, before arriving in Thailand, must first obtain a visa corresponding to the purposes of their stay in the country.
The exception is the right of citizens of certain countries to stay in the country for tourism purposes for up to 30 days (a stamp is stamped on arrival in the passport).
The performance of any work by a foreigner without first obtaining a work permit entails liability in the form of imprisonment and/or a fine.
Accordingly, it is allowed to carry out labor activity only in the office of the company and only within the framework of the official obligations specified in the permit.
